I set my first group of eggs today in my shiny new Genesis 1588- picked after reading lots of reviews on here. It has the automatic turner running as well.

This evening I put in a digital humidity/ temp gauge- temp looks fine but humidity is reading a steady 46- which is what it was sitting in the room. Give it overnight to change, consider it a piece of junk, or be concerned??

Thanks!

Genevieve

I have a hovabator 1588 as well, and with the center resevoir filled with water during the incubation period it runs at an average of 45% humidity. That's with 2 meters I used to read it. My hatches have been pretty good. I think you should wait a bit and see if it changes over time before scrapping it. Good luck.

I think your humidity is fine. At lock down I add a sponge which brings the humidity to about 70%.
