First timer with questions

Just move it very slowly. They amble forward when it hits them in the butt.

If you're doing cornish/rocks they won't be miserable. All they want to do is sit by the feeder. They do poop a lot more so you'll probably want to move it daily./

If you have never raised meaties starting with 50 is a big undertaking. We are just completing our first batch of 25 so I am not an expert at all but I think 50 would have overwhelmed us. We did 24 and found it to be A LOT of work! They are eating and POOPING machines! As for the tractor issue and moving it around we have found that they do move well towards the front as it is being wheeled but you do have to move it slowly as towards the end they waddle slow and want to sit down a lot. We built a 5 x 10 ft tractor and found that 24 in it worked very well from start to finish. I don't think I would want many more inside it though as they grew to be 8 lbs each live weight.

50 birds will be tons of processing work, but shouldn't be much work in raising. I've found raising 30 is really no more work than raising 5. We had the entire family along with some extended family to help when processing 25 birds and it was a ton of work! Just got a batch of 30 chicks this week and will process 15 at week 7 and 15 at week 8. Just built a PVC tractor that I'm looking forward to trying.
