Hi all!

My neighbor's free-ranging group of three males and two females chose my back yard to lay their respective clutches. The girls have been sitting beautifully and we have them contained. As of yesterday, we have 1 sweet little gosling running around, 13 remaining eggs and one chick who died halfway out of the egg. The males are (naturally) super-territorial and I cannot get close enough to remove the body of the dead baby. Will it hurt anything to leave it in place until I can figure out how to corral the boys? I'm kind of worried about insects (ants) getting too close to the nest and harming any other potential goslings.

Thank you for any advice or insight.
