I got my first two chickens from a friend. I think they are all very colorful and pleasant to look at.plus who wants to pay for eggs. My first hatch was from a pumpkin Hulsey breeding pair, which a new sid Taylor hen.i got 12 eggs ready to hatch, put them on the incubator and 21 days later I had 12 black and brown little chicks! 100% on my first try and one got rolled from another one hatching.he got stuck in his embryo and couldn't move his head.i resisted for six hours and he was still trying. I knew th rule but I broke it.i broke him out gently and washed off only the sticky stuff till he could move his head and wing.i used warm water. Put him in th broader and he rules th roost so far.

Congrats on saving the hatching baby! Many times helping them out of the egg ends in disaster. So glad he made it to the top of the flock!

Great to have you aboard and enjoy all your poultry adventures!
