Hello everyone,

I have two chicks, around four months old, I recently heard that feeding chicks fish is good for them, and helps the grow up well. Just wanted everyone's opinions before I feed them fish? Should I give it a whirl? I gave them a little and they love it, but I am not sure if it is okay. I am a newbie to this backyard chicken rearing thing, these guys are my first chicks

You can feed them just about anything you eat plus your scraps. No chocolate.

They can definitely be fed fish. We give them the scraps from cleaning fish -- they about jump up on the cleaning table after them.

There is a treats chart somewhere on BYC.

Fresh cooked fish leftovers are fine. Be careful of too much salt in canned tuna, and possible parasites in raw fish.
