FISH OWNERS

I agree. Also sounds from the list that maybe you are over stocked too which may be another reason for the algae. Mr pleco there, if a common pleco, can get to two feet long, so shouldn't really be in even a 20 gal. If you really want a pleco, try to find a bristle nose or something that stays "small". That koi also can get to a few feet long and should be in something about 5x larger than a 20 even alone. Either way, the carps and plecos are "dirty" fish and produce lots of waste. Cories I hear do best in groups too despite being sold as "independent" fish.

I have a 55 gallon in the living room just waiting for a few more water changes to balance it out, then he will be in there all on his own.

We are actually getting a koi pond in our backyard soon (hopefully) so that will fix that, he was a "rescue" sort of. My neighbor had 10 of them in a 10 gallon tank for his daughter, when i went and saw that I offered to take a few, some i gave away and he is the only one left. Im hoping to give him away and re-home him now.

As for the cories, that why I have 2 , lol

1) im trying to re home him at the moment
3) Around 3 weeks ago, I usually do them one or twice a month depending on the tank looks and test results.
4) They are both Whispers, The first time the stink started, I placed the fish in a back up tank , and cleaned the whole filter system as well as just re did the whole ecosystem. I know, big risk, but it just kept coming back. I placed the fish back after 30 days on trial, i didnt wan to take any chances.

Then when that didnt work, i got a new filter. Ive talked to my local petstores, and all they can offer is more water changes.
