My two Amano shrimp. They are super hard to breed in captivity, but my females pregnant. Nothing will hatch though, since they aren't in brackish water.

Could I keep cherry shrimp or a easy to breed shrimp in the same tank? Coz my female shrimp is 7 years old, I don't want anything to happen to her.

I feel so stupid...

I knew ahead of time that the methlyene blue would kill off the beneficial bacteria. An ammonia spike was inevitable.

I dug through a box of old aquarium stuff an found an old test kit. Ammonia was literally off the charts. As I was testing, I lost another koi. He died in my hands...

I moved the remaining 2 koi to a de-tox tank and began draining the other tank. I changed out 65 of the 75 gallons and the ammonia was still at 2 - 4 ppm.

The tank I moved the koi to had 50% new water and I'm changing out 25% of it hourly until the ammonia reaches a reasonable level.

I'm so mad at myself. I should have been testing. I started with 8 koi in the garage, and now I'm down to 2.

For the record, I finally have this under control.

I tested the water yesterday and ammonia was 0ppm, nitrite was 0 ppm, and nitrate was 20 ppm. The remaining 2 koi from the garage are as healthy as ever. Soon they will be moved into the indoor 125 gallon tank with the koi that I brought inside months ago.

HI everyone,
I have a ten gallon tank with 2 mollies and a few guppies. The tank cycled for two weeks before intro'ing the guppies, and then i waited another two weeks before the mollies. I got the mollies two weeks ago. Everyone seemed happy and healthy, and today I have found both mollies dead! Why would they both die at once and no other!? There isn't any way toxic stuff could get in there....??!?! I was watching them very closely!
