Fish Thread for posting Pictures of our fish, tanks, ponds, and Q & A

I have a 35 long cichlid tank and was thinking of discus. Does any one have any? How difficult ary they vs other types? (books always say alot but reality is sometimes different)

This is my Yellow Tang and my Longfin Banner Fish...

Thanks, Chicago! I always wanted a saltwater aquarium - my brother-in-law has a PhD in Marine Physics - he and my sister always had lovely tanks that I envied. So in '97 I got a tank of my own and gave it a try...the marine betta in my picture is from my first set up in '97...so he is at least 13 years old now. He's a great fish!

It actually is not as hard as everyone thinks...the biggest thing is the initial cost of set-up can be high....so I started small (30 gallon) and worked my way up to this tank (110 gal). It is very peaceful.

I also had a beautiful ribbon eel for 8 years (not sure how old he was when I got him) that we lost this last year, so I'm on the hunt for a new one...

Thanks again for the compliment!

Conch Republic - yes, those are live corals in the back ground. I have mostly low-light requiring mushrooms (modified anemones that do not sting & look like mushrooms

) I also have some bubble corals, bulb tipped anemone, and one large hammer coral.

I don't have any more pictures on my computer, but maybe I'll take some more - I do love to have them on my slideshow/screensaver.

Thanks for your compliments, as well...it reminds me to stop, look, and appreciate it. We sometimes take it for granted.

I wish I could get my 125 saltwater set up... darn top bows out. When it was running we had a few live corals, never did to good on the anemones though, always died on us. That betta is beautiful. If you want eels, thatfishplace.com usually has some very pretty eels and they are excellent with shipping.
