Tbh I’ve wanted a big 55g or bigger cichlid tank as the center piece of the living room I’d much rather watch that then the tv 🤣🤣
Chiclids are amazing! The last fish we had and the next fish we would get to be honest!
We use to have Oscars to and they jumped out of our tank all the time! But were fun!

The last time I had a tank was when I was like 6 years old I had guppies and a pleco
Haven’t had a tank since but I’ve gotten into fish the last couple of years just waiting untill I have the money to get a tank.
I once bought a couple of Albino Bristlenose plecos. Turned out to be a breeding pair. I finally had to separate them, I couldn't find anyone local interested in 60 babies.

A few weeks after I sold the babies and momma to a pet store the male died...of a broken heart? :hit

Hi everyone! I myself have had only one Betta a few years ago however in my aviary I have a pond with misquote fish and some snails along with a small toad that lives in my waterfall! I do have a question! How do I make a separate area to house all the extra baby mosquitoe fish fry. They eat the misquotes and that super helpful as it was once a really big problem.
I have minnows in my little ponds for mosquito control. They breed but the ponds never seem to get overcrowded. I think the frogs eat them.

Does anyone know if guppies can survive in really cold weather? I'm wondering if they might be better to have them my misquote fish🤔
Probably not.

I had goldfish in my ponds but they kept getting eaten by bullfrogs. I scooped a netfull of minnows from a large pond down the road, added them to my ponds, and have had no mosquito issues since.

I was looking at getting a 36g a while ago because it was a full set on sale at a local pet store I didn’t have the money and my parents didn’t end up buying it but I did look into what I would stock if I got it.
I was planning on some Cory’s a bunch of regular and black neons possibly some harlequin rasboras and some shrimp but that was a 36g so for a 10g I might just do some small tetras and some shrimp or like thedawg said a betta and some shrimp.
Get as big an aquarium as you can manage. A 10g is good for a betta, some shrimp, but not a school of tetras, they need more room.

My 5.5g has shrimp and snails only.

This is a pond in my aviary so they won't get eaten by anything. Did you say probably nothing because of predators or that they aren't very cold hardy?

I don't have problems with predation as they are completely safe in my aviary. I do have a small toad that lives in the water fountain but he only eats larger flying bugs and adult misquotes.
