tht sucks because i caught a fish on memorial day and it got away with the stringer on it lol i know it wouldnt dissolve a stringer but i was hoping the fish could still get around

I caught a fish with just the hook couple times. I would throw it out there and bring it back like a lure. I think the fish were called gizzard shad or just shad.

ETA: They were big fish so I think the name is not gizzard shad.

yeah most panfish if they are hungry they will just go for the hook

The stringer will eventually rust away,but the fish will probably be made a meal way before that happens.
