Five 3.5 week old's: Update:...Mystery died :((PIC HEAVY)

it's late so please give me some slack here......you brought the young chicks outside? 65 degrees, sunny or not, is not warm enough for young chicks.
I got this from http://www.extension.umn.edu/distribution/livestocksystems/DI0631.html
The
1st week, keep the temperature at the level of the chicks at 90-95° F. Reduce the temperature about 5 degrees per week until room temperature is reached.

I just don't want you to have any problems with the rest of them...

If I misread then just tell me so

thank you for this post, i allready knew all of this information. I know 65 and sunny is not warm enough for 1st week baby chickens to be outside running around in. My chicks stay outside no more than 15 min under my supervision. This time i just ran to the house for 2 min then right back. She started into shock probly no more than 4 minuets outside

Your Roseanne looks alittle like my Welsummer and Gwen like my Buff Orpington. Sorry to hear about that cute "Billy Idol" chick.

I know that i read that your yard hasn't been sprayed in 2 years so i dont think it could be chemical, do you have large gravel or flowers that may seed around. I took some of my 3 week olds out for a quick playtime and caught them trying to eat a pebble that was way to big for them. I caught it before he had a chance to swallow thank god. I have also heard that if you have flowers that seed, even if it is the wrong time of the year, the wind could carry small sections of the seed and he may have eaten one that could have hurt him. I am very sorry for your loss. It is so sad when we lose ones that we are very attached too. Please keep an eye on the rest of them. I am hoping it was only a freak accident.
