Five-month old Australorp suddenly lame. Update: Now another pullet going lame!

What you have done for June (and May) is way beyond what anyone could ask. Thank you for taking such good care of them, and for caring so much. Caring that much takes a lot out of a person's heart, but the love that returns fills it back up.

Know that we are all with you in spirit. :hugs :hugs
And leaves our heart fuller than it was before we cared. 🙂

Only just checking back after having yet another chicken crisis myself.

Azy, this is frustrating and sad; I completely sympathize with what you must have been, and are still going through with your girls. A crystal ball would come in really handy right now.

I hope very much that if June passes during your trip she will have a peaceful passing. Good that you are with her in her time of need. You and your girls have a huge support group here. Stay strong and safe.

:hugs

June was bundled between two fluffy towels in a large box for her trip to the lab. It was nice and dark in the box so she very likely slept all the way. When we got there, Dr. Niles came out to the car to get her. She didn't complain when I handed her over to him. He was gentle, and he promised her end would be quick and painless. Now waiting for results.

I just spoke with Dr Niles from the state lab. His findings are pointing to either lymphoma from lymphoid leucosis (LL) or Marek's. He found enlarged kidneys, which points to LL, but he sent tissue samples off the their pathology lab for further testing to try to pin-point what this is. (My flock has previously been diagnosed as carrying LL)

What it isn't is a respiratory disease or bacterial infection.

The results of the pathology tests could be in by tomorrow.

Stay tuned.
