Fixed hen's prolapse, now she's having more butt problems! PICS

I checked on her this morning, and she appeared fine, but last night when I was watching her she pooped once, but it was more like urine. It looked a lot like pee. I know this isn't normal.. I'm at school, so I won't really be able to check on her a lot today, but when I get home I will attend to her. Thank you again for all of your quick responses, I appreciate it so much.

I am thinking it was an egg. Just a hunch. She might have prolapsed trying to pass an egg with no shell. Maybe the other stuff she's passing is part of the egg--yolk, or white? When the tissue/membrane you pulled out came out, was there more blood?

There wasn't any blood.. The only time there was blood was when the actual prolapse happened. Other than that, she hasn't had any bleeding.

Then I don't think you have to worry about that bit you pulled out. If it didn't bleed, then it wasn't a real part of her, right?

So, what's her status this morning?

could it be a diseased ovairy? ive read of hens expelling sick ovaries. or could she be a part time internal layer and that is some sort of egg mass shes had in her for a while thats finally coming out?

I don't have any info that might help, looks like others have given some good thoughts about the situation.

I am curious about something, though. Do you know in what month this hen was hatched?

Best wishes for you and Synergy,
Ed

Well, I haven't had any problems again.. We got her from an assortment (from McMurray) in March 2008. She's been a healthy hen up until recently. I'll go check on her and try to update.
