Fixing Chick's Curled Toes

Curled toes in poultry can be fixed with tape! Our picture tutorial and video guide you through the process.
That's the way I 'fix' my birds curled toes. If their really bad, like the peachick you had the other day, I usually just cull.
I've too, like @R2elk have had birds with 'clubed' toes and the had no problems getting around or breeding. Eventhough, it was a defect from hatching he would on an occasion throw a chick with the same side leg being 'clubed'. I too, removed it from my breeding stock and the problem went away. So it's difficult to say if it was from hatching problems or genetics.
ETA - good job of taping those toes, Kathy

This is great...haven't had this issue yet but will file it in my brain for the future. Is the tape you are using in the pics medical tape?
The tape is regular masking tape, but you can use any type of tape, except I don't thing I would use duct tape because it seems like it might be too heavy.

I just attempted to fix curled toes on a button quail. I used a very small rectangle cut out of a bandaid. I'm not sure that I got the toes exactly right, but we'll see how it goes. :pop
Wow, quail are so tiny! Got any picture of the taped feet?

This one was a button quail, at that; I think it weighs a few grams at most. It's like splinting ant toes. I will get a photograph when I do their official photoshoot today.
