I'm so mad!

I had this woman (teacher) who wanted duck hatching eggs for her school project. I asked her all the questions. ie what will you do with the ducklings once hatched, do you have everything prepared? incubator ready?, know what to feed?, brooder ready? etc. Sounded like she had it all together so I told her I would donate the eggs to the school. Well she was supposed to pick them up friday. I had already took them out of the wine fridge and set/turned them for her for 24 hrs. She called and said she would not make it and could she pick them up in the morning monday (today). So I told her I will put them in the incubator and start them for her so they won't be messed up sitting out. Well, got a text this morning that she would not be picking them up at all because she couldn't borrow a car!! What??!! I don't get how some teacher wouldn't own a car, or would even ask to pick them up when she didn't have a car in the first place.

Now I have 24 duck eggs in the incubator and the ducklings don't sell that easily around here. I am still trying to sell the babies I already have. Don't know what to do with them all and I don't want to throw them out if there is babies in there, i would feel terrible!

i would call the school and talk with the principal. she has totally inconvenienced you, very irresponsible on her part. a teach mind you.

not real sure what good it will do, but it may stop her from contacting someone else. irritates me.

Maybe she was hoping, you would offer to bring them to her?

It would make me wonder if she was really ready for them.

Nah, she sent it via text because she didn't want to talk to me. And now that I think about it, I actually called her on friday to make sure she was still coming, she didn't call me. That was when she said she wouldn't make it til monday. I guess I should have caught on then instead of putting them in the incubator for her. She seemed nice

It might have been a parent raised a stink when junior came home "w'e'e going to hatch ducks" ... ZOMG bird flu I'll call the principal and the PTA about this!!!!


The teacher may have been to cowardly to call you back- I'd still call the school ... Or egg her car... No... really call the school and see if its a school issue- We used to hatch chicks at my school but cant anymore.

I'd send a text back complaining about how horrid she is to kill chicks like that by not holding up her end of the bargain (of its not a school issue)

Oh that just stinks... maybe try selling them online of course there's the added hassle of S&H...

I wouldnt get too mad. We all have those days. She needs a car and its a tough economy. I would wait im sure shell be there

I have found that any time I offer something to someone FREE of CHARGE they are often not as committed as they would be if they had payed for it.
