I've been reading that chickens can have a lot of what people eat. Can they have flaxseed? I've got some in the cupboard but can't use it as I don't have a grinder. I've also got bulgur and a few other "unusual" grain-type products. Can they eat this stuff? I just don't want to esd it to the trash can because I wasn't thinking at the grocery store.

I believe they could eat them just fine.

I use some whole flax in my homemade bread and granola. I haven't tried, but a coffee grinder would probably crush it for you.

I'm new at chicken raising but for people they say flas seed needs to be ground up so we can digest the nutrients inside- We can't break down the seed's outer shell. Maybe with chickens their crops would do the trick?
