I've recently gotten some of the fly traps and set then in various places in and outside the coop in their grass yard. They do stink BAD, but they also catch lots and lots of flies! I'm probably attracting all the flies in my little village, but I don't care cause they are working. I also noticed they attract those pesty little gnats, and since the traps are up, I can sit outside with my chickens in the evening and not have a cloud of gnats in my face. The thing I like about the traps is the don't use chemicals to kill flies. I use DE in my coop and nesting boxes to keep mites and little pests out. I also mix; garden dirt, sand & DE for the chickens to dust in. They love it. I keep and area covered by a roof overhang filled with this cause that area doesn't get wet even in the worst rain.
