Flies!

I have a huge fly problem. They are up by house, not just by the coop. The coop is fairly clean. I have used prymethrin, sevendust, fly traps, lime and fly killer. Nothing works. What can I do?!

What kind(s) of flies are you dealing with? Each type of fly has it's own set of things that attract them and ways to control them.

x2, just wanted to say that I deal with flies by picking some fresh rosemary from the garden, and placing pieces of it in areas with flies. Supposedly they don't like rosemary. It seems to be somewhat effective.

I have fresh rosemary in my garden- I'll have to try that. I wonder if hanging it would do the trick. Any other recommendations, I'd love to hear them! I sure get sick of all the fly related buzzing. YUCK.

They look like regular house flies. I saw a horse fly yesterday! I sprayed it with fly spray and killed it. Yuck!!! I got some DE. I am going to add it to their food and sprinkle it everywhere. I have had enough! The empty lot next door has a lot of overgrowth. Wonder if that is adding to the problem.

I've heard mixed reviews when it comes to DE. We use it on our dogs when fleas get out of hand. The biggest problem I've heard is that it damages the bee population. It's always worked well for fleas, though.
