I had 5 chickens at the beginning of the week and now we are down to 2…

Two (that I got from the same place as pullets) got very ill and died the same way. My other girl was taken by a hawk :(

I have suspicions that my flock has Mareks and my two healthy ones are just carriers. What would you do in my situation?

I really didn’t want to just keep 2 but I wouldn’t feel right giving them to someone in case they are carriers but I also do not want to add more chickens for the same reason on top of the traumatic week we’ve had.

Are 2 ok together? I feel so bad for them. They keep calling for their flock mates.

I once got down to two girls and they were best buddies. So yes 2 can be ok. So I would just wait it out. 1 is more problematic but you cross that bridge when it happens. I got down to 1, and she just hung with the dogs until the chicks grew up.

Yes, they'll be okay. They'll adjust in a few days. You're right not to rehome them if you suspect Marek's. I'm sorry for your losses. :hugs
