Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Thanks! They’re Old English Game Bantams (OEGBs). :woot Mixed coloring though :D
Awesome, love mixed babies, ya never know what you're gonna get!

Lol :lau They need names, too. :gig
Lol I see a couple name suggestions from her post, the obvious one being Lucky, the other part of it, Maggie? I also have a cousin named Omega haha

.... hmmmmm, well, I started watching this new show on Netflix.. The Last Kingdom.. and the guy on it:eek::eek::eek:... Utred!!!
But trust me.. that would have to be assigned to a VERY HANDSOME, MANLY rooster:D... sooooo....
Or... Marsha, Jan, and Cindy??
Or Snoopy, Woodstock, Charlie, Lucy, and Linus!?
Look, I hit the nail on the head last time so I may have peaked:gig
I love the Brady bunch! Marsha was my favourite when I watched the show growing up but I often identified with Jan because I was often an introvert. I do have a middle sister and my youngest sister is named Cindy.

We almost named my lil boy Lucy but went with Keith instead because he, well, turned out to be a boy lol

Today is going to be the longest day of my life!
Im working with a lady that talks down to me and tells me how to do my job! Like I havent been doing it for 10 years! Plus shes not the sharpest tool in the shed. So when shes telling me what to do im thinking to myself you have no idea!! :th:th:th
:duc:duc:duc

OMG I hate those types of people! Makes you feel like you have to tiptoe on eggshells at work when work is stressful enough!

Gee I have one of those... Let's not take into account that I led a $36M program in this company, yet I must me stupid. She's especially bothered when I exercise independent thought. Her response: "We can't do that." Mine: "Why not?" and then she get's flustered. I've got to deal with this tomorrow as her opinion and the authority differ. And I'm gonna go with the authority.
Independent thought is exactly what bothers those types of people. It's like they were picked on at a young age and constantly have this front put up or something. Last time I worked with a chick that kept bossing me around one day I blew up and told her she wasn't the manager. She said, "But I've been here the longest, 12 years." I told her that doesn't make her a manager.

Then when I start selling the eggs that money will go to the coop savings until we build the coop then that money will be savings for a new king size bed and our bed goes in the share room for when people sleep over. Thats the current game plan.
My plan is to put our queen sized bed into the spare bedroom when we get a place and then get a king sized bed- my 1 year old isn't ready to have his own bed yet.

Omg new chicks! Still just the 2??
I have another batch due to hatch on the weekend but they aren’t mine so I’m not as excited as I was for my babies, but still super keen to see those first pips!! View attachment 1657615 View attachment 1657617 View attachment 1657618 View attachment 1657619 It was time to clean the brooder so the babes are having their first play outside! They weren’t to sure at first but it didn’t take long for instinct to kick in and have them all scratching in the dirt. Of course Oliver is keeping a close eye on things, he would love a chicky lunch I’m sure.
Cute! I love the waterer thing too, what do you use to hold it up, zip ties? What breed are the chicks?

KLIL, weird, I could've sworn I quoted the one where you asked me about me getting a coop- I would love to get a coop one day! I currently live in an apartment tho. We didn't end up getting the duplex we saw last week but I am hoping we will find a space with 450m2 of a backyard so I can have 3 hens maybe next year and after I work a few years maybe we can finally move to the country but the idea makes my husband nervous since acreages require a lot of work and we aren't really handy people. We would have to learn the ins and outs before we hire someone if we need someone for construction type stuff so we don't get ripped off.

:frow
Patiently waiting for april to come around the corner :caf today and tomorrow's gunna be crap.Been preparing for that polar vortex all week. Getting a low of -34c with windchill today. had to give my seramas and call ducks a heat lamp :thThen it's suppose to jump up to 7c Saturday! :barnie my birds aren't going to like the dramatic change in the weather..

Omg poor darlings. I hope they are all ok love. And you too? Changes like that in the weather can make you sick. :hugs

That sounds like a great idea. I love living on acreage but it isn't always for everyone. Like my friends couldn't think of anything worse but we couldn't think of anything worse then a little yard so I get why it makes your husband nervous.
3 hens will be enough. I only have 3 and their personalities just crack me up! I love them.

At the moment we only have a double bed that I had when I lived at home lol so we need an upgrade soon.

They will be enough for a bit but I will still live vicariously through all of the peeps on here posting pics of their many breeds. I did something irrational last night, a bit after midnight I signed up at mcmurray hatchery so I can create a wish list of 15 bantams, 1 each of breed of various cochins, silkies, and others. When I signed up it said I had already used the email some time ago but I don't even remember registering. I must have registered some years ago to get their catalog. How chicken obsessed I am.. and I did this all knowing that the bantams are straight run so I wouldn't be able to get any of them unless I rehomed all the boys and I find that very difficult to do so I might just get older bantam hens. Or maybe older standard hens, a green or blue egg layer, a marans for chocolate eggs and a white egg layer like a hamburg.

Beautiful birds, I especially like the blue hackles on the hens and the partridge brahma's pencilling.

This is my McMurrary wish list (plus a Barred Cochin bantam):

I'm crazy. Oh well, it was fun to do because I couldn't fall asleep. I think it helped. On a side note, I noticed McMurray doesn't have some of their bantams available, they used to have cornish bantams I think, and dark and light brahmas. I do like that they include shipping in the prices though. At the check out part of my mock order it had an option for me to add $75 to the order for health papers since I would drive to New York, an hour and a half from me, to pick them up. Oh and my shipping date woulda been May 20th, my grandma's bday :)
