Flock/Life Journey's 2019

That's the date that all the breeds would've been available. Chicken window shoppin' :wee

OH and I would've added a buff brahma and a mille fleur and porcelain. They only call them that at mcmurrays and not d'uccles or booted bantams. I have seen a pic of their porcelains and it was not bearded so I think those are booted bantams unless some are bearded and some aren't, like their silkies. Anyway the reason why I didn't add them to my wish list is I need to limit the amount of straight run birds I would get because half of them could be roosters. Also when the hens get broody I can find those breeds in my area because d'uccles are somewhat popular and brahmas are cold hardy and where I live it is very cold. I shouldn't even be getting most of the other breeds but I see people in my area having them, it just requires insulation and using petroleum jelly for their combs but I read a post about the chickens tucking their heads under their wings when they sleep anyway.

Well I'm gonna go have lunch with my lil one and maybe watch the Mr. Men show. The theme songs are catchy.

This is the modern day one:

I also love this episode, it's pleasant even though one would be quite bloated after eating all that..

Have a good day everyone!

Terrible news everyone, I took Lydia out into the field with the others
So she could free range a bit took some photos as you saw, went in to get a drink for 5 mins, heard the guineas going crazy so I rushed out only to see a pile of her feathers leading into the bushes where I found her head. We’re absolutely devastated right now. We’ve seen the fox come a few times and the guineas/ dogs have chased him away but it looks like he got in quick and got the most vulnerable one. :hit

That's horrible. So sorry to hear that :hugs definitely keep an eye out for that fox, it'll come back for sure. I had a big fox problem last year, Probably had a den near by but the bloody things kept coming throughout the day trying to snag a hen or duck. Was really nice having guineas to alert me but the fox didn't mind them. Your best bet is to sit out and wait for the fox to come back and shoot it, I'd suggest trapping it but foxes are very smart and very good at avoiding traps and such..

I am so sorry!

Have you considered an Electrified fence or netting for them?
