Great news guys! My main customer wants 2 dozen eggs and she is paying me an extra $3 for having them available on such short notice. I told her she didn't have to but she's one that won't take "no" for an answer.

No, I don’t really get enough to sell.. I eat too many and my boys always take some... and I like to give them to my sisters and friends

We got our first egg as a Valentine's present.

We have only had them ten days. About five days ago we started letting them out of the coop in the evenings. They seem very happy.

We are having one problem. We thought we had six hens and it looks like we have a rooster. Initially we thought we had bully but the crowing in the morning makes us think otherwise. Thoughts.

Congratulations on your first Valentine's day egg. They have a way of giving you a first egg just when you need the cheering up or on a special day.
My first layer laid on the same day we lost our first dog. He got hit by a car and then I checked my chickens before they cheer me up and Hazel my favorite had laid her first egg. Cheered me up.
