Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Ohhh love! Thats not good about your hand. I have alot of scars on me. Never broken a bone just stitches. My partner has broken alot of bones. He has a crack in his skull where is eye is. Falling from a light post. Zero fare I sware.

I have a scar on the back of my leg from camp. 11 stitches 8 needles 1 tetanus needle. I feel off a tandem bike. The teacher was on the front racing another teacher and I slipped off the back and my thigh when straight in the wheel.
I was about 9 or 10. The teacher was so upset he was crying and bought me flowers, a necklace and some of stuff. He was the hot sports teacher so all the other girls were jealous like he bought me stuff because he liked me. Im like no he felt terrible that I got hurt.

Im good honey. I just woke up. Im just laying in bed BYCing.
Wow when you said you guys were crazy teenagers you really meant it! :gig All jokes aside I am glad you guys are ok.

I just have the one scar but DH broke his wrist riding his bike. He also broke a tooth when he was in middle school running in a gym and someone slam opened a door on him.

That was nice of the teacher to do that! Lol I can see the other girls getting jealous. When I was in the 5th grade my class went on a trip to a beach/camp site and I went down to the pond to look for frogs. I didn't find any but my pants got all wet and I only had jeans. A classmate's mom lent me her son's sweat pants so I didn't have to sleep in jeans. My friend was jealous because she had a crush on him- most of the girls seemed to. I had a crush on his friend :lau

I had started my first flock of 24 birds (including one roo) in 2017. Then my life changed and I left the state, I thought forever but God had different plans. I came back to the little homestead here in SC and to my family: one precious man that I married immediately upon my return, 6 dogs, 2 cats, and the original 24 birds minus a couple that died of unknown illnesses. So 2018 was a sad, lonely year that ended on a happy note! And the "girls" are so gorgeous! Big, fat, sleek looking hens. So happy to be back.
Welcome!

So I went up to my coop again tonight and as I was picking up my older chicks, I noticed that one looks like it broke its jaw :( It looks like scissor beak, but the lady said that she doesn’t have that in any of her chickens or their gene pool. I went up this morning and she was perfect so I am assuming that she broke the jaw somehow even though she is drinking and eating fine. I was wondering if you guys know anything to help her out maybe? Also she was wiggling a lot so I don’t have the best of pictures. When I get help, I will show you guys again:) just asking for friend help :idunno
Hm with scissor beak I notice it when they are very young (had a few from hatcheries that were like that), seems to be genetic. I've never seen one get one as an adult though, so maybe it is an injury. I have read of someone giving their hen a deep dish because the hen can just scoop up food this way.

The 4th one down looks like Sylvester Stallone

Finally put eggs in the incubator. Unfortunately, two had cracks in them, but I went to the barn and found two to replace them. The total is 18 eggs: 7 sultan, 7 d'uccle, and 4 cemani cross. Hopefully they're fertile.:fl
:celebrate

They arrived. That’s how you see how fast you can get to town!!!
One was sadly DOA. And I have 2 more that are touch and go. I think the dead one was my light Brahma. And one of the failing ones is the same. Another failing little one might be some type of polish. They are under a brinsea heat plate. Everyone else is active as all get out. They all figured out the Mille watered immediately. And are chowing down on their fermented feed.
The 2 weak ones, I’ve given them water with electrolytes from a syringe. Neither seem all that interested at all and haven’t gone near the food. They are both sitting back on their bums and wobbly. I don’t have a lot of hope for them unfortunately. I never want to do mail chicks again. If I got a roo in my silkies then I’ll invest in an incubator.
Oh no I am sorry :hugs Hope other chickies are ok :fl. You will most likely get more than one roo. :thumbsup

My ameraucana hen. I named her Dottie. Pics of the bantams later. :)
She’s only in the garage until I put fresh hay in the empty coop. :)

Beautiful! I love splash birds.:wee Can't wait to see those banties. I love the quote by Bob too and totally agree! :goodpost:

Oh btw I love Steve Irwin and his family. There's a video somewhere of my sister filming me saying "croc poo", I used to watch his shows on Animal Planet all the time back in the early 2000s. I can't believe Bindi is 21 already I think she was about 8 when he died...I don't hear much about the son though.

Well the day is going better than I expected so far, a maintenance person will be checking out the fridge at 12 and at 1 we will be seeing a house in the same area as the last one we liked.

Have a great day!

Evening Krystal and those down under :frow

Make sure to call the hatchery and let them know. Most will replace/refund anything that dies within 3 days of arrival.

Kayla, she's gorgeous

Making a mini patio in the cottage garden, thought it would be nice to have a small seating area in it.

Going to put white stones on the floor, same white stones that I’ll be putting on the pathway
