Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Bigger Coop Plan:
When I build my bigger coop I have decided to have 1 Rooster. I was tossing the idea up for a few weeks then I asked Jordans opinion and he said its upto me but he thinks having a rooster would benefit the girls and thinks we should.
So I have decided to have one and ive decided to have a Black Australorp Roo because I loved JD and was pretty sad when he was gone. So Black Australorp Roo will be joining the chicken list.

I get white and tan eggs. I have white and barred birds. Nowhere near as colorful as yours.

Tan and white eggs are cool too! My bantams are laying tan and white eggs, the 5 month old pullets should be laying me a colorful basket of eggs soon. Here's the eggs they came from. Hopefully I'll get this kind of variety from my girls.

They are my girls.

Lovely ladies, looks like a partridge cochin and 3 red pyle OEGBs :love

Fortunately I do have a deep dish for them and I think that is why she is doing ok:) I also have a nipple drinker that I have always used for my chickens/ chicks since it doesn’t get messy. Thanks for helping me :)
Oh good! :thumbsup

Omg my partner has no 2 front teeth. He knocked them out when he was about 7 on a scooter. He had fake teeth to put in but never worn them. But the gap has mostly closed up now.

Funny thing was. When I first met him I was so drunk I said to him what happened to your teeth? Did you lose them because of drugs?
Me all class here :frow

Then when we started dating I asked him about his front teeth. I didn't remember asking him when I was drunk. Then he told me what I had said! I was like omg and you still wanted to date me? His like hell yes :gig
Haha when I met DH he was the drunk one, or at least he was getting there...we went to the Chinese restaurant a block from our school and he had 2 large pitchers of beer. He told me later it was so he could get confidence to talk to me.

Steve Irwin was a legend. I loved his shows.
His son Robert has his own live shows at the zoo and seem to become more active on the tv slowly.
Yeah I think Bindi was about 8.

How did the house hunting go?
That's cool about Robert.

It went as I expected, not so well. In fact, we didn't even get to see the house. When we got there the tenant said he told the owner that he was not ready to show the place. I guess the realtor got the message late or something. We decided not to go with it because we need a place that is vacant to live in and then decided we would go with a condo which I am happier with because it costs half as much as a house would meaning I'd be closer to getting an acreage one day.

Flock Update:
I went out to check the girls and check for eggs and Coco was in the nesting box and she popped her head out to see me so I was talking to her and telling her I love her. As I do with my girls and put my face next to theirs and make kissing sounds then next minute pop she laid an egg! It was one of the cutest moments ive ever had with my chickens. She is just so beautiful and has really become closer to me like Hazel is. :love:love:love
That is so sweet :love

Okay yall, I need some help... I have noticed for about a couple of weeks that my Buff Orpington has a bald head.. well today I saw some blood on her neck showing through her feathers! When I first noticed her missing feathers the only thing I could think of is that she was getting pecked when they would be on the roost at night and maybe she won’t move when “ordered” to!? Because whenever I am out there with them which is daily and I do try to at least observe them a bit... that there is never anything out of the ordinary.. no unusual bullying or constant pecking.. just the occasional peck here and there... so I have no idea what is going on!? What should I do about this? I know if they see the blood they may go after it more..
Oh no, is she or any of your flock new? Or maybe a predator?

My sweet Dottie laid an egg! :celebrate

Beautiful egg, are you going to hatch it, blow it, or eat it?

Well the week has just started and I just can't wait for it to be over. I can't wait for my trip to the US to be over, really. Travelling with a toddler does not sound fun but we will try to keep him from having tantrums.
