Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Hi Everyone,
How is everyone? Took me while to catch up today. Haven't had much time. Im waiting at the moment to get my hair done :love
Haven't been home yet to see my ladies :th

I'm good. My grandma is being discharged to a rehab either today or tomorrow. I'm still thinking about dusting off the incubator and trying some duck eggs.

Got a phone call at half seven in the morning saying my guineas were on the rode causing obstruction :th

Thankfully all were back in the feild by the time I got out.
They must of chased after a fox or something..

How good are guineas at chasing away predators? And how loud are they?

Alright so penny has not sunk deep enough into the brood y mindset yet, so although she took the chicks she didnt seem to want to parent the chicks, just brood :/ so i pulled them out from her just now seeing as I cant have her kill them by refusing to get them off the nest for food and water and put them back in the brooder! Lost 2 lavender orp chicks last night to puppy piling in the brooder though it appears :( I checked them before bed and everyone was eating and drinking :/ plus 90% sure we're gonna lose a welsummer who hasn't eaten and can now barely move :"( on the up side Sunshine and her buddy are living it up in the house due to being sooo small and special needs compared to the others, they'd defintly get trampled :/ ducklings are all perfectly healthy though :) gonna let penny have my march 6th clutch of 6 and hopefully it'll be warmer then too!

They do chase predators and unwanted visitors away. A hungry predator would probably get past them though.
They’re extremely loud, here’s a video

Great Update love!
Sorry for your losses. Hope no more during the journey. Thats a shame penny hasn't quite got the hang of being broody and mothery at the same time. Are you going to try put them in with her again? Or just have them under a lamp?
