Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Pics
Hi! I'm Abriana. 2018 was a sad year, lost my two favorite girls, Sophia and Bantam (who was a bantam, named Bantam lol). They were the best, Sophia was a lap chicken and loved as much as a chicken can love, and little Banty was the broodiest bantam I've ever known. She hatched so many beautiful babies (adopted eggs from the normal sized chickens)!

I currently have 18 lovely chickens, and am hoping for some ducks but I don't know if that will happen :)
Awwww so sorry for your loss :hugs

Thank you kindly~
Lovely thread idea btw :) I suppose i'll introduce myself a little bit.

My name is Jaime, I live on a 50 acre farm and have all sorts of animals. Pigs, Goats, Horses, Jersey cows, 6 dogs (5 jacks and a Bernese mountain dog) 7 barn cats, Chickens (Of course  ) Ducks, Geese, Turkeys, Guinea hens, Ornamental pheasants, and will hopefully be adding 2 Emu chicks at the end of February~ 2018 was a bit unorganized so this year I have lots of plans i'd like to get done before 2020. My main goal right now is to build a tractor coop suitable for about 100 layers. I'd also like to build permanent breeding pens for my lavender orpingtons, ayam cemanis, cream legbars, and french black copper marans..

Hello, I just found my way to this thread (thanks to KLIL).
I have 6 Buff Orpington hens. They are doing just fine here near Savannah, Georgia, USA.

The newest addition is a Light Brahma rooster, a rather unexpected (and loud) gift from a well-meaning neighbor.

I am now looking into either buying or making a no-crow collar because this lad will not be quiet...ever! Did I mention that in addition to sewing I can make a pretty decent pot of soup? :thumbsup

Hi :) my name is Anna and I am in the UK. I am fairly new to poultry, I've had my birds since May 2018 and I love every minute of having these precious wonders. I have four chickens and four ducks, my chickens are :-
Lilah - a Light Sussex pure bred
Pedro - RIR hybrid ( no idea what breeds she is mixed of)
Jellybean - Cream Legbar hybrid (also no idea what breeds she is mixed of)
Roo - Buff Orpington pure bred, she is our youngest and was hatched and raised by Lilah.
Lilah, Pedro and Jellybean are layers and lay daily and Roo I believe is POL as her combs are getting redder by the day.
My ducks are :-
Napoleon - an Indian Runner Drake x Mallard
Jughead - Indian Runner Drake x Mallard
Midnight - Khaki Campbell x Runner
Aurora - also a Khaki Campbell x Runner. Both Midnight and Aurora began laying about 6 weeks ago and both lay blue coloured eggs.
My female ducks come from paired parents (2 drakes 2 hens) and mine have also paired successfully, (Napoleon with Midnight and Jughead with Aurora) however, I am fully aware of all the risks and possible dangers including drakes that try to mate with chickens, so we monitor our flocks every day and keep a very close eye on them. I free range them every day and they share the same garden but they sleep separately with their own coop and duck house plus on rare occasions when I need to have them in the run it is cordoned off so the two species can't mix. So far no problems and hopefully there never will be :fl
