Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Pics
I get six from about 24 chickens three are chicks, two are roosters and 6 are broody but I should still get more than 6 am I right?!
Lol. I get about 7 from 23 chickens, but about 9 are too young to lay or are cockerels :p

Hi :) my name is Anna and I am in the UK. I am fairly new to poultry, I've had my birds since May 2018 and I love every minute of having these precious wonders. I have four chickens and four ducks, my chickens are :-
Lilah - a Light Sussex pure bred
Pedro - RIR hybrid ( no idea what breeds she is mixed of)
Jellybean - Cream Legbar hybrid (also no idea what breeds she is mixed of)
Roo - Buff Orpington pure bred, she is our youngest and was hatched and raised by Lilah.
Lilah, Pedro and Jellybean are layers and lay daily and Roo I believe is POL as her combs are getting redder by the day.
My ducks are :-
Napoleon - an Indian Runner Drake x Mallard
Jughead - Indian Runner Drake x Mallard
Midnight - Khaki Campbell x Runner
Aurora - also a Khaki Campbell x Runner. Both Midnight and Aurora began laying about 6 weeks ago and both lay blue coloured eggs.
My female ducks come from paired parents (2 drakes 2 hens) and mine have also paired successfully, (Napoleon with Midnight and Jughead with Aurora) however, I am fully aware of all the risks and possible dangers including drakes that try to mate with chickens, so we monitor our flocks every day and keep a very close eye on them. I free range them every day and they share the same garden but they sleep separately with their own coop and duck house plus on rare occasions when I need to have them in the run it is cordoned off so the two species can't mix. So far no problems and hopefully there never will be :fl

Hi Anna, Lovely to meet you.
My names Krystal.
Your flocks sound so lovely.
Have you got photos?
My favorite bird is Light Sussex. I did have 2 but one was so little it wasn't growing then unfortunately died. And my Cockerel got attacked by a fox and died 3 days later.

I hope to hear more about you and your flocks.

Im sooo sorry for your lose love. He was an absolute beautiful boy!
Have you got photos of your Pullets?
Ohhh and lovely to meet you. Im Krystal.
dog house gang.jpg Hi Kystal, this is photo is from November but is the quickest I could find. The Barred rock is Sesame, she is the super friendly curious one. The black Australorp is Teriyaki. She is very shy. And the third is Miss Ruffles, with her little bra on for her crop, she is a Bantam Cochin. She was Scoops(deceased rooster) favorite hen. We got the two pullets to keep her company. After seperating her from our original flock they hens beat up on her bad so now she has her on little coop and run and new flock family. Kathy
