I was surprised by this small brown egg! It’s the same size as my Silkie’s egg! All of my gals lay really large eggs so I was wondering if it could’ve been my Cuckoo Marans first egg.. but no... I calculated her age and she is just 14 weeks old this week... so, I think that Claire must’ve laid a fairy egg... so cute! Is this a normal thing to happen at times?

In one of my other groups they call them "fart" eggs. And said they happen frequently specially with young layers. I think they're cute!

Good morning/evening,

Here is the current sick hen. Only taken an hour before she felt lethargic and tips of comb went a bit purple. I've never seen anything like that. She's doing better but I pray that it's not liver or kidney disease/infection.

In one of my other groups they call them "fart" eggs. And said they happen frequently specially with young layers. I think they're cute!

They are called wind eggs sometimes too.

I do get them sometimes too

Morning!!!

Last night with everything going on.... i forgot to close up the coop!!! I think i got my freebie safe night though!! looks everyone made it through the night! though i'm thinking an egg may have gotten eaten as i didn't think i picked one up yesterday but then again maybe i did? anyways i'll take it.

Haha! Yes, I’ve heard “fart” egg too but I like the sound of fairy egg better ... because they are so cute! Anything with fart about it can’t be cute

When i left they were having a lot of fun!
