Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Surgery went great, home finally!!

So i got home and it was chaos :he the fan got knocked down and was making a mess! Pluss the roosting pallet got knocked over as well! :eek:I have no idea what happened but everyone was so upset and stressed out that i tucked everyone in for the night and will check everyone over in the morning. :th :hit

So good to hear from you.. was wondering about you.. was that her first egg?
Thank you! Yes that was her first egg since I got them on March 26th. Sadly I can't find anywhere in Canada that sells the proper protein % of feed for them, they need at least 22%. The seller said the highest he can find is 20%. So I am feeding them that and freeze dried mealworms. So far I have only found the one egg even after having them for a week. I am thinking it might just be because they are still trying to adjust to their surroundings so it might be a while before she lays another egg which is probably better for her.

Mystic, glad your DH is home and that the surgery went well. Ellie, I hope you find what is going on with your chicken and that he or she recovers.

Edit: forgot to mention I realized that my "upside down" picture actually ended the right side up after I posted it :)

Also forgot to update on my fish situation. I found a 2.5 gallon at the thrift store for $7! It came with a filter and LED light. The filter needs to have cartridges replaced and I need a heater before I can put my guppy fish in it. Our room temperature is 65F which DH finds hot enough because he is very active (unlike me but I try sometimes lol) so he doesn't want me to turn on the heat for the whole house just for the fish which is understandable. So I ordered a 25 watt heater off amazon for $4 plus $3 shipping. It is coming from China so it will be another month or so before I get the fish. I actually got this 2.5 gallon as a breeding or isolation tank. I plan make a divider for my 32 gallon tank to separate the male guppies from the female guppies when they are about a month or two old. All this won't happen til my dad looks at the stand we got for the aquarium to make sure it is sturdy enough to hold water, DH says.

ugh... animals are going to do themselves in by their own shenaniganz! I check on everyone this morning and looks like everyone is ok! yay! i took the pallet out for now and i'm going to use it and the other pallets as a run divider for the babies to enjoy grass too without fearing the adults. it's raining today so maybe have to wait till this weekend to work on it. :D :love

We hit 96 F yesterday and today is supposed to get to 98. I spent some time last night getting the misting system setup again. Last winter was kind of rough here and the string was down off of the fence.

They will be much happier now!
