Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Pics
So these are all the pics I have of my chicks as of recent. They are 1 week and 1/2 hold when these were taken. They will be 2 weeks saturday the 19th :) I am positive I at least have 4 boys. 2 of them being Black Copper Marans, 1 olive Egger boy, and I think the one dwarf with the weird feathering is a boy as well. Also can someone tell me why the second chick I posted(pics 3-4) is feathering like that? He has very long closed looking feathers and then it only shows the bottom part of the feathers. Also the very last pic doesn’t have 2 pics because she was being very energetic :jumpy We named her smushy :). One of our dogs clipped her beak when they were inside for the first couple of days we had them. So she is pretty special ;) The dog mostly got my hand so she was alright but the dog thought she was a toy and jumped up to grab her and it obviously didn’t work. I was holding the chick and also the dog is still pretty new to everything and she has never seen a chicken before so she doesn’t know what it is :hmm. I do have an older dog, Lacey, and she is super protective over chicks and chickens:celebrate I am hoping when the new dog relaxes a little that she will be good with chickens as well.

Omg they are so cute! I cant sex chicks that young. I just keep them all unless im 100% like Gin stayed until 5 months lol. I would have kept him but my coops too small for him jumping all over them.
Ohhh you doggy will learn from the other dog. But at least you taught him anyways and the chick wasn't killed thats all that matters love.

I love guessing the gender :D I can hold at least 3 more Roos so I am really hoping that I get some out of this stock lol. I was so afraid that she took the chicks head off:eek:. I’m just glad everyone came out alive in that situation :celebrate

Forget the house work, just enjoy your time off :)
As for choosing new chickens, imo best to go with your partner as choosing them together makes for a special moment for you both to share :)

Love! You are absolutely right. I need him too they are our babies together.
And ill leave the housework a little today. Ill just go grocery shopping and tidy a little.

What breed was Gin?

My partner just came into the bedroom and told me work wants to send him to America again for work but for 5 weeks this time. Last time was a week. I said that would be cool are you going? His not. He said he won't leave me alone at all. And he missed me too much last time. Its a great opportunity so see if he changes his mind.
