Sounds like one of my feisty bantam roos from a few years ago. It helped when after we got more hens- they were sexed chicks that the hens hatched so we didn't really have to quarantine.Being sick sucks! I might be able to get pictures up today, my phone isn't going haywire right now.
I've been thinking a lot about my frizzled bantam Cochin cockerel. He's just too sexually charged at the moment to be trusted around the bantam girls, mostly OEGB, and I don't think Gimpy should ever be in a flock with any cockerel/rooster. I'm not really sure of the next step.
He has no problem with people, he still Let's me pick him up if needed and has not once been aggressive towards myself or others.
Nothing in the trap last night.I'm able to borrow a bigger trap, so we'll see if something happens tonight!
PIGEON CHILD!!! it's 17 ° Fahrenheit and we have a new flock member! Mom's keeping him under her but HE HATCHED!!!!!![]()

What colour are they, is there 2 now?
Ah I see, are you planning on hatching his eggs to maybe keep his daughters after he finds a home or do you feel your flock is big enough? He's only 5 months old and just now becoming sexually active, so I don't think adding more pullets would be the answer. I already have almost 20 females of various ages, the bantam girls will be a year in spring and the pullets I hatched myself are just over 4 months old. He's the only male with them, so it's not a too few female problem.
I might end up trying to rehome him, I'm sure he'll calm down given time, but I don't think my flock (mainly Gimpy) could deal with having him or any other cockerel with them.
Ohh I forgot they were naked at hatch hehe. Didn't know that about pigeon incubating, I've only had the one hatched. Are they called squabs at hatch or is that when they are older? When they start to fly they are called fledglings I think?@bantamsrmyfav not sure yetpigeons hatch naked and yellow but I'm sure they'll be some white brown mix
the second egg is too far under to tell if it's hatched but I know theres at least one of 2 babies hatched! The second might take another 2 days since pigeons start incubating the first then lay a second.
