I am exhausted. I spent almost all of Friday and Saturday shearing sheep. (I didn't actually do the shearing but had to catch sheep, take off the blankets, give to shearer, put sheep away, collect the fleece, pre-skirt the fleece, bag the fleece with a tag, etc).
Now I should really go out and check on the birds but Anders is laying on me and purring, so I think I'll wait until he gets up.![]()
Here are some pictures from today.

Meet my ducks!
Best. Day. Ever!
Also, I wonder why my hen is bigger than my drake? Is that normal?

Todd's a muddy mess and decided DW's bed was the perfect place to dry off.

Krystal @KLIL: Just wanting to know if you've ever sat out a cyclone with chooks? We've sat out 2 here so I know the house is good to go but am less sure about the chook pen. Watching Oma head this way is not inspiring me with confidence. Hoping it will dissipate before it gets here but while we have a new, sturdier pen in mind it's not built yet ~ & we are house renovating so keeping them in the house, even temporarily is not really viable. Perhaps I should get a crate...?
lol @Texas Kiki gave me some great advice ~ only we're renovating & I can't suddenly acquire the needed doors. They suggested the bathroom covered in newspaper ~ or a garage, which we don't have either.I haven't been through a cyclone yet. We haven't had one here yet. Im still really new at Chickens. Ive had them since June 2018 but slowly getting knowledge. You could post the question here or in a thread and see what people recommend? Ill follow as I need to know this too.
The last times we went through a cyclone I didn't have chooks so I'm considering a large dog crate either in the bathroom or in the breezeway under the house. *scratches head* I'm hoping it won't come to anything in the end. They usually don't this far south but I don't want to suddenly find myself in the midst of a big wind with a flying coop.
