Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Weather Update:
Yesterday I woke up and we had 1.2mm over night and this morning was 0.6mm over night. Few sprinkles of rain when I got home yesterday but nothing big. Any rain is better then nothing I guess. Hopefully get more over the weekend as its Friday here :wee
Take what you can get... I've had water shut off for days as I have a leak. Trust me, we all need showers. We stink!

Beautiful Flock love!
And cute ducks bathing :love:love:love
How many eggs did you get today?

Thank you! I got nine Bantam eggs, they're from the last two days. I haven't been able to collect them regularly, but I will be back on track now. Two more duck eggs, so the total is six in the last three days. I'm still patiently waiting for my standard pullets to start laying, so no large chicken eggs yet.

I was supposed to be setting up my new-old fridge nesting boxes when I decided some pictures needed to be taken. The nesting boxes were done after the photo shoot.

I have 2 20ltr water drums ready at all times and our camp shower encase we get a storm. When it storms here it hits so fast and 99% of the time we lose power. Which then we cant use the pumps for the tanks. :hit
We are pretty organised with that. And we have a power hub charged at all times to charge phones, run our fridge and lighting.

Fridge nesting boxes? What do they look like?

Splay legged BR chick who I'm now calling guppy has been in the house for a day and sunshine the miniscule Buff orp chick suffered sudden death while I was at work :( doubtful the welsummer chick is going to make it through the night, but Guppy is super lively, awkward and, heavily imprinted already...whith minimal contact...if I call him and tap at a spot he'll immediately run over to see what I have food water etc. But if it's not me, he will cry for help and refuse to down anything but water willingly, and otherwise just sit there and not eat(he will peck at stuff but not eat anything). 0-0 I work a minimum of 7 hrs a day. HE NEEDS TO EAT. I've bribed him whith mixing his feed whith a bit of water and applesauce to make it easier and tastier, but just like the buff orp chick he's clearly tiny! Half the size of the rest always only at 4 days old!
Should I let him brood whith the chicks hatching next week since he's so small? He also had Awfull poopy butt when I got home so I had to deal whith that too -__- I'm now sitting here supervising while he eats dinner before bedtime, hoping I can console him when his chick friend is gone tommorrow. I'd stick one of the other chicks whith him but again, he's tiny and has awfull coordination and has trouble getting up if he falls down so I don't want to risk him getting trampled or stuck :/ here's him at the moment eating! I know he most likely will go down hill and not make it, but id like to try!
