How is everyone and your flocks?
Missed you all today! Im just laying down watching Hot Ones. Looks like we will be ordering the hot sauce and trying all of them like they do on the show watch for that Update.

Flock Update:
Im not the only one that spoils my girls. Today one of the ladies at work had these treats ready for me to take home for the girls. There was Raspberries too that they went crazy over!


Got 2 eggs today. And have pre sold my next 4 cartons of eggs.
One ready to go over the weekend to Rachel.


Question: Im selling them for $3 a dozen. Most of the ladies are giving me $5 so thats cool bonus. Some ladies only want a half a dozen. Do you think $2 is fair for a half of dozen? Id just prefer taking a whole carton to work rather then half all the time.
What do you all think?

Can you get cartons there that hold six eggs? if so, i'd get them and charge at least 2 if not 3. Glad people see their value.

We just cut the cartons in half to halves. Jordan thinks I should charge $3 for half $5 for a dozen. But ive already set me price for a dozen.

Today I had a sad moment. In my house I have 2 air fresheners that spray every 30 or so minutes that keeps the air smelling nice.
One in the toilet and one in the lounge room. I use different flavors for each and this afternoon I put new refills in it. The one in the toilet the smell just makes me think of Tank. I must've had that flavor somewhere in the house when I had him or around the time he passed away.
I almost dropped to the ground crying today. Jordan held me and made me feel better but damn I miss you baby.

Finally caught up! I don't dare quote all the pages of messages though lol

So I'm in California and it's been raining everyday since I've been here. The 3 silkies from my avatar all turned out to be hens. One died last month, she must've been the one with biggest crest because she couldn't see her way to shelter from free ranging when it rained.

The other 3 are muddy so I doubt I'll take pics of them before I leave for Arizona on Saturday. I want to give them a bath but would need my mom to watch little one and she's always working.

She wanted some more layers so for her birthday I got her 3 chicks for her broody hen.

A guy on craigslist bought the Mcmurray layer assortment and selling them at $6 each and keeping 4 himself. That should more than pay for those 4, I think I saw 20ish chicks.

Pretty sure I picked out a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, Gold Campine and a Dark Cornish. I know Cornish don't lay as much but the dark ones are pretty and I hope the other hens will make up for it.

I'll try to get a pic of the chicks before I fly off Saturday.

Some 12 egg cartons can be cut in half.

Make sure to add in the cost of cartons too! The best I have managed is about 50cents per carton

The flock is doing good, free-ranging at the moment. I'm so excited about my first egg! I can't wait for more to start laying.

I'm sorry about Tank. I'm sure he was the bestest boy!
