So I just had a disturbing interaction with someone. My family has five dogs (plus my grandpa's dog), they are kind of guard dogs. They alert us if someone is driving by or coming into the yard. A couple of them go too far and chase vehicles, since very few people go by it can't really be controlled. Most of them come back when called though. It's a bad behavior that I hate, but I wouldn't threaten like this guy did.

I also live in the middle of the woods, most of my neighbors are 'snowbirds' that come down in the winter And leave when It warms up. I'm not within seeing or hearing distance from any of the neighbors except for the occasional crow from the one who has chickens.

All of the dogs where outside and this redneck type goes by in his pickup truck. This is a very occasional thing, only the mail lady, ups/FedEx and a few 'lost souls' come by my house since there are much easier ways to go that direction. The dogs bark, my grandpa's dog gets in the way like always(again I hate this behavior) and moves when the truck starts moving. The rest of the dogs come back when called and come in the house. As the guy drives by (he can hear me but can really see me on the porch) he yells "Next time I'll shoot 'em!"

I don't care how angry I am, I would never threaten anyone like that! I get it's annoying, one of the neighbors has a chihuahua that does the same thing, but I wouldn't threaten to kill her!

People are horrible and it upsets me that someone could so easily kill beloved pets!

Sorry about the rant I just went on, but I just had to tell someone.

Here you cannot shoot a dog in a situation like that. One person went to jail for shooting Dogs on his property. The dog would have to be attacking and that is not the case when you are in a truck

Ended up getting nine grey call duck eggs yesterday and put them in the incubator today along with some cochin and d'uccle eggs. Hopefully in around four weeks, I'll have some ducklings.

The broody hen is sitting on 4
partridge, 4 blue buff columbian and 5 lemon Pyle Brahma eggs.
I Candled one today and it looked good.

What a fun thread. I raise ducks and I know yall are just a bunch of chicken raising peeps....so I won't worry about talking about myself and my ducks. Yalls chickens look so nice and pretty...now I kinda want some chickens...but I know chicken math works the same as ducks math...and that would lead me in the wrong direction. Can't wait to hear more from you guys!

I am happy duck! Live in the south and have a flock of 4 ducks. It consist of 1 pekin(male) and 3 buff orpingtons(female). I have had them for a year and have loved almost every moment of it(you know...we all have those moments we don't love). I feel that my ducks have changed my life...I am more happy and I have learned to be more responsible. I have loved BYC and can't explain how much it has helped me. I love how people who all have the same passion can just get on and chat, ask Q's, and share something we all love. I have loved how nice the people are on here and how welcoming and helpful they have all been. I hope to continue to help others, meet others, and learn so much more. If the ducks could talk they would probably thank you guys that I was able to ask the questions that I did(when I was first starting out)...because if not...it could have cost them there life. I can't wait to hear more about yall and meet more of yalls chickens(and maybe ducks too). Here are some pics of my flock(taken today) and all the eggs I have no idea what to do with.

oh...also forgot to say that our 2 of our cats just had kittens. We have a total of 11 and they are so fun!

Omg they are soooo cute!!!! So many eggs!!!
