Well, I guess it’s inevitable... chickens attract rats
... and rats attract owls
... last night we had a screech owl in the tree right out our back door! And it was communicating with another one in the neighboring trees... it was so awesome! The sound of a screech owl is so amazing and eerie! AND loud
... I wonder if the chickens were freaking out a bit!? I had to check for extra poop in the coop this morning
I also, found a half of a rat the other day in my yard.. just the back half.. and it had a ten inch tail! This thing was huge! So I guess that I have the owls to thank for that! Better a half of a rat than a whole rat

only way i know is my dad heard a rattle snake one night closing up the coop for me, and then today i grabbed the egg cajun left me and it had snake skin attached to it!
and i can tell when they get in from the sand tracks
i also have bald eagles now too which are trying to take my hens!!!
And I can't do anything about it..
... but I haven’t seen any coming around soooo... but I do see the hawks often
you will enjoy showing your family around
.... that’s always so sad..
