Flock/Life Journey's 2019

Thanks for the congrats Bob, Congrats Krystal on your eggs and good luck!

Petra went in the box today but I didn’t want to lift up the box to see if there were more eggs so I don’t intrude too much. Assuming she laid an egg a day she laid the first egg Thursday so I might check this Thursday to see how things are going.

Morning! I came home late last night to find that EVERYONE has started laying:gig i have 3 broody mommas now instead of one:lau unfortunately I'll have to move goldies because she started her clutch outside the run in the bushes. But Gem and Cliffie are in boxes so they're good. Littles are using their ramp in their coop :celebrate. I guess the tarp blew off in the storm yesterday though and i lost a couple of the smaller ones because they got wet and cold :hitgoing out for hay and feed soon. Found two duck eggs too so they are starting to lay again too! :bow:ya

Nice! You will get eggs this winter from them and then next year they will slow down and molt

I’ve never seen a brown duck egg, what breed lays them?

I thought my quail might’ve laid in her box but she didn’t, she laid the 5th egg today in the middle of the terrarium. I moved them all to the spot in the back. Hopefully she will sit on them when there about 7. I told DH I want to hatch them and he complained (half jokingly it seemed) about having more mouths to feed. They’re button quail for Pete’s sakes  so I’ll see what happens on Friday and decide what to do.

I start my first training shift Saturday night. It will be the first night DS will be without me, he will probably give DH a hard time by crying most of the night but DH says he will tire out and fall asleep. I actually will be able to help him sleep before I go but when he wakes during the night I hope the milk bottle will help him get back to sleep. :bow:fl
