Unless you or a nearby farmers sprayed his fields and the wind drift contaminated them I don't see how the carrot tops would have killed them.Weasels are very small can fit in 1" hole or smaller .You would only find small bite marks on their necks if it was a weasel.

Also, are the eggs I currently collected still eatable.

The eggs are probably fine, although it depends a bit on what the chickens died of.

If the chickens died of heat stroke or a predator or any other physical cause, the eggs are certainly safe for you to eat.

Chicken diseases do not usually make eggs dangerous for people either.

If the chickens died of poisoning, there is a chance of the eggs being dangerous to you, depending on when and how the chickens got the poison. (examples: poisonous spray drifting through the air could get on the outside of the egg. Poisonous substance eaten by the hen, after the egg was laid, would not affect the egg.)

I had 14 chickens in the coop. They were eating and acting normal in the morning. I went out around noon and gave them some carrot tops. Still acting normal. I went out towards evening to close the coop and the whole flock was dead or dying. What on earth could have caused this?

Was it extra-hot that afternoon? (Compared with recent temperatures, not compared with what you expect next August.)

Did they run out of water?

Is there any chance a dog or predator ran around and around the pen, making them panic and run?

(Overheating or dehydration can cause death, and so can panicked running/flapping that continues for too long.)

I also wonder about Avian Influenza, like some other people mentioned. It's probably worth having them tested, if you don't find any other good explanation of the deaths.
