My neighbors are complaining about chickens leaving droppings on their lawn. Buying dog kennel so they'll stay in most of the time. Dirt floor. Any recommendations as to put on top of dirt or should I just leave it natural. In wooded area. Thanx!

You'll probably want some sort of litter in there, at least in time, just to keep odor and flies down, keep it relatively lean for them to walk on, and easier to rake out. Most anything that's available -- hay, straw, pine needles, dried leaves. It will be messy after a rain.

Another approach is sand, and use something like a small rake or kitty litter scoop to clean poop out.

If the area has litter from the wooded area or grass, I'd use it as is, til they destroy it.
