Hi! New to this site here in Melbourne, FL!
cc and ml are identical. Thus ml/cc. It just depends on what your syringe says. Some say cc, others say ml, but it's still the same amount. Yes, .23 ml/cc per bird, and you can safely round it up to .25 ml/cc, so a 4 lb. bird gets 1 ml/cc, a 6 lb. bird gets 1.5 ml/cc.You say .23 ml/cc per pound of bird. Not cc but ml, correct? I use cc syringes on my horses.
Thank you for your help!!!
not sure, they had crushed and ate the yolk and shell, not sure how much of the white they ate, but the bit of shell that was left was a beautiful light brown!Mine just started laying last week. Was your egg tiny or bigger? My RIR eggs are all about the size of a ping pong ball. I just assumed they started small and this is "normal".
Good luck tomorrow!![]()
I have a couple of older Hova-Bators and Little Giants. One of the Hova-Bators and LG's were still air. I did put fans in them. I have had much better hatches and more stable humidity and temperature. Now I use them as hatchers as I have a cabinet I incubate in . I incubate at around 35% humidity during the fist 18 days then I kick it up to around 75%. My temperature is around 100 degrees. My chicks usually start hatching a day early. I also use a turner in my styrofoam incubators when I use them. I have hand turned in the past but would rather use the turner. Good luck and have fun...Question hopefully some of you Floridians can help with. I hatched Ancona duck eggs very successfully, so when It came time to try my first batch of chicken eggs I was very dissapointed when only 3 made it. I had 3 hatch, 2 hatch and die one right away and one that night. I had several fully form and never hatch, or pip the shell and never make it out. I am trying again and really worried about my humidity. I don't remember exactly what I had it on the first hatch. I have found so many conflicting temps. I purchased Storey's book and found many resources online only to make me more confused. Please help. I am in south Florida and would love to get advice from those in this area about humidity and what has worked for them. I have a Hova Bator still air. Thanks Valorie
I will be checking them all every week! I have never seen such fluffy butts as on these Blue Wyandottes!cc and ml are identical. Thus ml/cc. It just depends on what your syringe says. I'm glad nothing was wrong with your flock. I've noticed a few time when I went into the coop that some of them were panting. One of them got a nice big bug, and the others had to chasing it, to try and steal the bug, so eventually they were all panting, hot, and ready to take it easy. It's good to check them over from time to time. I try to check mine over every week, or so. That way the feathers don't cover up anything I need to be aware of.
