FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Nava, so sorry your last eggs didn't do anything. I have a gray girl from Holderreads, and looking at a couple more currently to set up for next year. Maybe we can swap some hatchlings or eggs next spring.

Just wanted to say hi. I am in north central FL near Lake City. Just looking for others for "chicken" talk.

Not sure my incubator is working right. Its one of those top hatch round ones. Its worked great in the past. I had 20 guinea eggs that did not hatch. I currently have some chicken, duck and turkey eggs in it. I'm seriously considering trying to make one out of a styrofoam cooler. I was able to hatch with the top hatch last spring so maybe I am just having some crappy luck with the eggs being mailed. I just put 6 of my silkie eggs in it so I guess time will tell.

Right now I have a trio of white silkies, 1 muskovy (cant spell it) duckling and 2 pekin ducklings, 6 french guinea keets, 5 cochin chicks, 5 EE chicks and 2 surprise chicks. I also have 2 baby bunnies.

I was talking to a friend today about how high the cost of feed has gotten. We were discussing Feed Mills here in Florida so I checked to see if there was a mill closer to me. here are the addresses of mills that I found.

I go to Hillandale Quality Feeds in Lake Butler. They make their own feed horse, cow, goat, and of course chicken crumbles not pellets.
They are very inexpensive the more you buy the less per bag. They do sell 50# at a time if that is all you can do. There layer is 17% and their starter is 20% unmedicated.

Here are the names Hillandale Quality Feeds, 9561 SW State Road 121.Lake Butler,Fl 32054,386-496-2266

Swans Feed Mill,8916 Fort King Road,Zephyrhills,Fl 33541,813-782-6969

Howland Feed Mill, 9743 US Highway 90 LiveOak,Fl 32060,386-364-1370

Knights Farm Fresh Feed,5376 CR 316A,Bushnell,Fl 33513,352-793-2242

I havent called the Bushnell or Live Oak but Swans was very reasonable just too far for me.

Hope this helps everyone Feed Bills are getting way out of hand for everyone.

We get our feed from CFR feeds in Florahome he has 17% laying mash and cracked corn and he makes his own cornmeal and buy a bale of hay from him every now and then when we need it for bedding i think a 50 pound bag of the layer is $10.70 last time we were there

Any one else having FOX problems

I lost 11 young ones with in 5 days, my fault I let them stay out too late, I thought the fox had forgotten about my birds since it was about 2 1/2 years since the last incident.

but what really hurts is that he almost wiped out my White Orps.
