Ok, so looking around, and based on my own babies LOL, I "think" I like:

Marans
NN's
silkies and showgirls
anything porcelain lol!

Outside of the silkies, don't think I want bantams. But if I am mostly eggs and not really a meat person, then SHOULD I be considering bantams? And if you go here, you will see a porcelain Roo that looks EXACTLY what I LOVE! But he is a bantam.... http://cc.relykdesigns.com/

really? I haven't seen ANY on CL for weeks in lakeland .... hmmmmm. Might make it easier to find good breeding stock. Going now to search lakeland and tampa

silkies make good incubators ( they go broody a lot )
I don't know a lot about those Marans xept that they lay a really dark egg

and at least I know that My Naked necks give me more eggs that i can eat,if any one wants chicks at any time of the year, I know that the only ones available are the Naked necks as they never stop laying.

but I can't.

I'm content with what I have at the moment. I was just outside looking at my BLRNN they are looking better and better

Wish I'd known about this group before I got my chicks. I really only wanted three and I wanted at least one that laid blue eggs. Oh well, I'm enjoying the heck out of watching these chicks grow.

Right!!!!! Only three, just wait till chicken math kicks in....... And you want at least one that lays blue eggs. You now have 6 brown egg layers, so you will need at least 3 blue/green egg layers to have a real pretty basket of eggs. Then you will need some Chocolate egg layers....
