I lost one to a rogue cold snap. They had been without a light for a week. I guess it got toooo cold and she got squashed in a pile up. Found her the next morning kind of flat and on her side. Learned my lesson too. They were in a barn out of the drafts so you never know.

Thanks everybody for your kind words-I will make hubs read them tonight! I am really excited about our next one....he just doesn't know it yet. I figure this one was a practice one

BTW Lowes has the best price by FAR for hardware cloth...they are always sold out though, so grab it if you see it

Hi all!!! I haven't been able to be on in quite a while, my laptop crashed; but I am up & going again. YAY!! I hope all is well with everyone & your families & animals! Things are great here for myself & family, we now have a lopear bunny & 7 new chickens! Thanks to CelticOaksFarm we now have (I believe) 3 easter eggers, 2 Olive eggers, & 2 americauna's! Just a remindee that this weekend at lonesome dove in lakeland fl there will be a small swap meet. Last month there were several ducks and some great looking roosters. Its this coming saturday morning in east lakeland. I had a great time last time.
