After my swap a couple of weeks ago. I found a brown male Coturnix Quail and an EE chick in my barn. They were in pretty bad shape. The quail had a bloody head and was missing most of its feathers on its head and it looked like it might have been missing an eye. The EE chick had weepy eyes and wasn't breathing very good. I put both chicks on vitamins with electrolytes and had some medicated feed. The quail is looking great now. The eyes have cleared up and it's crowing up a storm. I didn't think the EE chick was going to make it as it was laying on its side and really gasping. I started giving the chick some antibiotics meant to treat respiratory infections and the vitamins with electrolytes. I seems to be working. The EE chick is doing better but still has a ways to go. The eyes are doing better but one eye is still a bit weepy. I have been cleaning the eye a couple of times a day. The EE chick also has some feathers missing. I am going to continue to treat the EE chick for awhile until it is well. I am going to bring the quail to the swap so if anyone would like a young male Coturnix quail please let me know.

That EE must be the one that escaped from the folks next to me. We tried to catch it for a while, but she said "let it go."

We need to start bringing dip nets to the swaps to make it easier to catch escapees.

Actually Alan, I have a net with a long handle. Any idea who the EE belonged to??? It may have escaped but it was easy to catch when I found it and pretty sick too.

I think it was the folks next to me right next to the tree, but I can't say for sure.

I'm going to keep treating it. It sure doesn't act like all of my other chicks did. Hardly a peep. Today it did get on its little roost (an old piece of broom handle) I put in the cage for it. I'm going to keep it on the antibiotics for a few more days and see how it is then take it off them but keep it on the vitamins with electrolytes for awhile.

I also have brand new biblical verses that are wall apliques that look like they are painted on once on the wall.

Kids clothes which I still need to go through..

and anything else that i find in the attic or the shed that are no longer put to use.

Everything will be priced to go, in fact I'm debating on whether to put prices or just taking best offers.
