here in sunny florida, they live outside and i have seen them going into crevices in the dirt and under rocks. i think they are everywhere here.

That's nothing. Cover a board with duct tape sticky side up, lay it on the ground and I bet you could catch most of those. Get a piece of plywood and staple the duct tape to it.

This isn't a bad idea. It might take a week to catch them all, but eventually you will shrink the population. What about those mouse sticky papers? Try anything sticky. Bait with layer feed!
