I can't get one - seriously depressed immune system.

Got mine last week. They gave it to me BEFORE my labs showed my hemoglobin as very low. I dont know what that will do, if anything.

I don't take them either. I have gotten the flu once in 43 years, and that was two years ago. Thought I was going to die, but that still doesn't convince me of getting that shot.

We get flu shots. My youngest has been in the hospital after having had the flu progress into pneumonia too many times for us to chance it.

Got mine, littlest got hers, but the 5 year old (the one with a compromised immune system) conveniently spiked a fever just as we got to the doctor's office. Going to have to get hers next week I guess, so will my husband.

Since the 5 year old is immune compromised, we MUST all get our flu shots.

Some of you mentioned Mercury as a component. This is interesting in this day and age. Where can we find out exactly how much is used in these vaccines and why it is even used?

I had a supervisor at work make a major Mercury incident (I work in Forensics) several years ago. I got vocal about it with him as he spilled it on the lab bench and then began vaccuuming it up.

The administration witch hunted me (and everyone else) until I found another job in another state..... un (I am in a much better place).

Thimeserol is the ingredient with mercury in it.

I'm allergic to the flu shot. I ended up in the ER on IV fluids with hyperemesis (google it

) both times I was vaccinated.

My 2 year old has to have it due to his heart defect, and since my daughter goes to school, she has to have one.

My husband all ready got his.

The actual vaccine only protects against the strains thought likely to be most widespread. They usually miss by a mile, and the flu gets more rampant every year.

I have never had the flu ... at least I don't think I have. My husband, however has, and he gets the shot every year.

We both have worked in nursing for the last 13 years.

Handwashing is the most important preventative measure you can take against the flu.
