Fluctuating Temps in Incubator?

3 to 4 degrees is a usable temp range. Egg temp would probably be pretty stable. You may feel better with a wafer thermostat but you should have good hatches with the setup you have. A water wiggler would help you keep up with egg temp.

Ooooh, we're at about a degree flux now, woo hoo!

The thermometer I got has a plastic "thingy" on the end of a wire, no probe. It was either that or the 3.99 plastic wall kind with the dial! We opted to spend the 10 bucks more for the digital one.

I do have a question about the thermostat though (2 actually!)

Where do I buy the wafer kind, are there different kinds?

For the water heater thermostat, Lowes had three different kinds, Upper, Lower and something else... My package says Lower. Does it matter which kind you get? They all looked the same to me, not a sales person to be found (took me 20 minutes to find the darn things!) so I just bought the cheapest one.

I found that if I turned mine about "wrong way" so that the back was facing out, I got a much smaller flux, it was worse with it attached to the cooler, almost 10 degrees then.

If all goes well, we'll set my sons eggs tomorrow night, wish us luck! We'll probably need it!

That plastic thingie can be put in a water wiggler or the container of gel to simulate the temp of an eggs interior.

Sounds like you are good though. I say got for it
