Hi gang,

This is Fluffy:

Fluffy is rude as hell.

We got 2 Australorp pullets that she bullies around and muscles them off food. This part makes her eat a lot, which I think is somewhat how we wound up where she is now.

Her crop is HUGE so I was sure she had sour crop. I isolated her and drained it by inducing vomiting - and it was stinky and filled with grain. Over the next few days that I starved her the crop reduced in size and I put her on a dewormer and water+apple cider vinegar in case its bacterial. She was fed greek yoghurt, for its probiotics and a multivitamin.

I've reintroduced her to the coop now and within a day her crop is MASSIVE again. I have felt it, and it feels like mostly liquid or gas. Her sister who is in the video has a little crop like a golf ball, while Fluffy's is like 2 tennis balls across her chest.

This is now 2 weeks of her not laying (I'm fairly certain).

Does anyone have any ideas?

It looks like she is adjusting her crop, which they may do repeatedly if something is stuck or not going down. She may need to have antifungal medicine for the sour crop, and a crop bra in the correct position to keep her from overeating. Medistatin powder ordered from Jedds.com online is non-prescription nystatin, and can be used in 20 ml of water, and given twice a day with a syringe. You can get Monistat cream at a pharmacy or Walmart now and start giving it orally twice a day. I would give her some egg and a little watery chicken feed daily, since she needs some nutrition. There are all kinds of treatments for sour crop, but azygous has this good article:
