Fluid-filled lump under vent

This was taken last week. It's stayed the same and she's remained the same, soft and squishy

hi I know this thread was a while ago but what happened to ur hen . I have a 4.5 year old girl with ones of these skin coloured n squishy.
Aaah sorry I thought ut was an old post but glad ur girl is still OK. my girl seems to be fine also. 😊

I noticed a pink area below the vent on one of my hens. We had a fox attack recently so we thought she might have gotten some feathers pulled out, but when we caught her today to have a closer look, I realized there is a fluid filled lump there the size of my palm.

She is eating, drinking and behaving normally. I have not noticed whether or not she is laying eggs but I didn’t feel anything hard inside the lump. It just feels soft and squishy. I did not check very carefully to see if there was a wound somewhere but there wasn’t anything obvious. Any ideas what this might be?

Here is a photo (we are holding her upside down so the tail is on the bottom).

Greetings Honora --- did you ever figure out what this was? I seem to have the same thing. For a few months my hen acted normal, but now she is hunkering down and scared, and I don't know if it's he problem itself or because other hens have picked on her. Her neck has been pecked and I've treated the area and the bare butt area, but she hates being separated, so I'm letting her be with her friends part of the time and in a separate dog cage in the coop for a few hours to make sure she eats.
