Monarch could feel the embarrassment washing off the dragon in waves and winced a little. She retreated a few feet back, scared. Her own fear smelled terrible to her. She wiggled her tail in a little warning and puffed up, trying to make herself look bigger.
"Don't worry ..I've had enough fighting for today , what's your name " gazer asks still slightly crying
Monarch wiggled her tail more but replied, "Monarch," she said quietly. Stretching her wings as big as they would go and poofing, making herself look even bigger. Her tale wiggled its warning that she was not to be trifled with... even though she was itty bitty.
" can anyone be nice today " gazer thinks to herself ," why are you here ? ." Gazer says to the scared little dragon
"I.. I felt your sorrow.." Monarch said shyly. "I can feel others emotions, and smell them." She tasted the air by flicking her snake like tongue.
" Ok.." gazer says a little confused ." Well you don't have to try and intimidate me , cause it's not working "
"Oh," Monarch said, a puff of smoke escaping her nostrils. She folded her wings and stopped wiggling her tail. She crouched low to the ground and watched the large dragon that was more than ten times her size. She was smaller than most welps and she knew it so she stayed away from most everyone. She tasted the air and felt the other dragons confusion. "Why are you confused?" she asked, cocking her head.
" I don't know ..." Gazer says
Monarch cocked her head, "How do you not know?" She flitted her wings and took off, landing on a higher piece of ice so she could be eye level with the ice dragon.
